Colonoscopy: A colonoscopy visualizes the interior of the colon directly. This test is helpful in evaluating altered bowel habits, unexplained diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, blood in stools, colon polyps, cancer or unexplained anemia.
Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD):
Egd's is an examination of the lining of the esophagus, stomach, and upper duodenum with a small camera that is inserted down the throat. This test is helpful in determining the cause of gastrointestinal bleeding, swallowing difficulties, the presence of ulcerations or inflammation and the cause of abdominal pain and the presence of tumors.
Capsule Endoscopy: Capsule endoscopy is a procedure that uses a tiny wireless camera to take pictures of your digestive tract. A capsule endoscopy camera sits inside a vitamin-sized capsule that you swallow. As the capsule travels through your digestive tract, the camera takes thousands of pictures that are transmitted to a recorder you wear on a belt around your waist.
Capsule endoscopy assists Dr. Fitts to see inside your small intestine. Your small intestine, located between your stomach and your colon, can be hard to reach with traditional endoscopy procedures and imaging tests.
